A Good Question

Hello there. I wanted to update you on what's been going on recently.

On Tuesday, I had the privilege of taking part in a panel where I got to talk about minimalism. It was glorious.

I've been so busy with my new job and getting used to a new schedule that I haven't had as much time as I'd like to focus on practicing minimalism. This really hit me when I started talking about how to declutter and recalling all the good feelings doing it brought me to the group of ladies this week.

It was so fun to answer questions and hear their laughter and watch them nod in agreement when we talked about the excess in our lives.

One sweet girl asked me "How do you know when you have 'only enough?'"

What a great question!

I used the example of my shoes to answer her question. I told her that when I really started to think about it, I wear the same shoes every single day. They go with pretty much everything, so why change them? Not to mention, they're comfortable! So if I apply this to other things in my life, like food, clothing, etc., then I come to a place inside myself that knows I have enough to be comfortable.

If you think about it, there isn't much you need in life. Once we begin to remove the excess, we'll see that we can survive without all the stuff weighing us down.

In addition to being on the panel, I've been cleaning out my closet again, albeit slowly because I haven't had the time to spend on it. However, I plan to get back to it more diligently in the near future.

I'll let you know how that is going later.
